Associate or Full Professor, Urban Studies

The Barnard-Columbia Urban Studies Program invites nominations and applications from leading senior scholars for a position as Associate or Full Professor in Urban Studies. We are seeking an active leader in the field of urban scholarship with a demonstrated record of scholarly accomplishment appropriate to appointment with tenure (including a PhD); and, a national and international reputation for scholarly productivity in research. Areas of specialization are open, but we are particularly interested in scholars who bring an international perspective to the study of urban life. In addition to candidates from the social sciences and history, we especially encourage applicants working in such areas as planning, geography, and the built environment to apply. The Urban Studies program at Barnard serves undergraduate liberal arts majors and non-majors from both Barnard and Columbia colleges. A commitment to undergraduate teaching and advising is expected. Candidates should also have a demonstrated record of, or interest in, program leadership.
