The first program of its kind in Pakistan, the Social Development and Policy program combines a rigorous classroom training in the social sciences and humanities with reflective field-based practice. Through a transdisciplinary curriculum that is rooted in the South Asian context and defined by a spirit of global universality, students gain valuable theoretical and practical expertise in development studies in collaborative, learning environments.
We seek candidates with strong teaching credentials who will contribute to the continued enrichment of the Social Development and Policy program and who can contribute to the teaching of our flagship University Liberal Core. Applicants should show evidence of an interdisciplinary approach to research and pedagogy. Specialists in the fields of Public Policy/ Development Practice, Political Science, Urban Studies, History, Sociology, Political Economy, Islamic Studies, Legal Studies, Postcolonial Medieval Studies and South Asian Studies are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate can anticipate the course load not to exceed 3-2. Appointment is expected to begin July 1, 2015. Candidates in the final stages of their Ph.D. may also apply.
